Language/character set problems |
|
Any language and character set may by used in TV2003 thanks to our Unicode interface, but you must use a Unicode font to do it. Font is selected under setup/layout configuration/visual settings - eg. Arial Unicode MS.
Unicode can be saved/exported in several formats: Spruce STL, Screen Poliscript, Adobe Encore, Swift xif, Final Cut Pro, Sonic, and USF, or be exported as bitmaps for the Philips DVD authoring system.
Our PAC and RAC filter only supports basic Latin characters, but our 890 filter encompasses Baltic languages as well. We can, however, make PAC, RAC, and 890 conversion filters for your language, too, if you provide us with one or more subtitling files in the format wanted and a corresponding printout. So please don't hesitate to contact TitleVision.
Right-to-left writing is supported. But do remember to modify regional settings under Windows and load a Unicode font (see above). Try loading the USF file "International lorem ipsum.usf" from the TitleVision subfolder DATA. It contains Arabic, Hebrew and Greek examples. If you can see them, Bob's your uncle.
